How many outfits do you have? Adam Holisky
The next morning, my virus program informed me that a Trojan had taken residence on my machine for the purpose of recording my keystrokes. Nice. After I double-checked that the evil program had been removed, I immediately changed my passwords for the games I had played. Happily no damage had been done -- nor do I think I was really at risk. Because of that convenience thing, I let my usernames be saved as often as possible so that the keylogger wouldn't have actually known to what username to link my newly stolen passwords.
Alex recently talked about the lack of bag space for the hybrid class. This is quite true for them, as they have a hard time with the near infinite amount of bag space honor guide ,talent builds demanded of them. However looking at the non-hybrid classes, in particular a warrior, it can be seen that they too have their own issue of sorts. For an end game tank, it becomes less of an issue of actual bag space, and more of an issue of the limitless combinations of gear.
Most tanks swear by outfitter %26ndash; a tool that allows you to quickly change around pre-saved outfits. For instance, say I'm going to be tanking the nature phase of Hydross. Before even setting foot in SSC, I would have spent an hour or so making sure I had all the necessary gear, stats, and configurations that Hydross requires. A good part of this time would be spent getting all those gearing changes into an easy to use outfitter profile %26ndash; so I would just have to click one button to wear the gear.
Of course, that's resistant gear and it's expected that there'll have to be a bunch of switching of it. However, the gear switching doesn't end there.
As it stands right now, I have 10 different combinations of gear on my warrior:
- Nature gear
- Frost gear
- Shadow gear
- General tanking gear
- Max stamina gear
- Avoidance gear
- Dodge/Parry gear
- Nude (hey, sometimes you've just got strip off your cloths and /dance)
- Threat trash gear
- Threat boss gear
Each set offers different stats for my warrior, and each set fine tunes the way I play. This might seem like over kill to some, but think about for a second the different situations a tank is put in. Sometimes the key to the fight is threat %26ndash; as in most trash. Other times it's about stacking as much stamina as possible (as in Kael'Thas). Still other times it's about avoiding as many of the attacks as you can, which is a successful strategy for some Mount Hyjal and Black Temple bosses.
All of the sudden, all those gearing combinations start to make sense. It really gets unruly at times %26ndash; not necessarily in terms of bag space, but in terms of sheer options available.
What have you done to help keep track of all the gearing options your hard earned epics provide you? How many combinations of gear do you carry around?
