This is all about the system requirement in WotLK. That isn't a bad card for WoW - with your overheating problems, you should check if your processor is automatically downclocking itself in order to help out (something like CPU-Z will show you this) - something similar happened to me a couple of times and there was a noticable drop in framerate (not unexpected since instead of 2Ghz it was running at 0,8Ghz). That is, of course, after getting the newest drivers etc news resources comparison. There really shouldn't be a problem to play WoW with that graphics card. For stability, you should consider actually downclocking your GPU to help out.
